Undergrad Jackie Peabody

MER undergraduate Jacquie Peabody (Harley Lab) won runner-up for best poster and PhD student Joey Bernhardt (O’Connor Lab) received honorary mention for her presentation at PEEC in Bamfield, BC this week.

Jacquie investigated how thermal stress affects the activity levels and behaviours of the hairy hermit crab, Pagurus hirsutiusculus. Joey’s work looks at ecosystem services in coastal areas and how best to identify and manage natural resources from biological, economical and cultural points of view.
